How to convert text to PDF
- 1
Paste or type your text, or import a local TXT file. Review and edit the text in the box.
- 2
Choose A4 or Letter and a font size from 10 to 18 pt. Lines wrap automatically within 20 mm margins.
- 3
Create your PDF and download it. The saved result remains available for another download until you change the text or settings.
Example: turn meeting notes into a PDF
Paste a heading, an attendee list and several paragraphs of notes. Keep blank lines between sections and choose A4 at 12 pt. A longer note continues onto additional pages. Download a PDF you can open in a regular reader and select or copy its text.
A simple PDF for notes, letters and checklists
Use this converter for a typed letter, study notes, a reading list or a text-only report. You can edit imported text before exporting it. English and Chinese text can appear in the same PDF. The document uses a single font and size throughout.
The PDF contains real text, not a screenshot of the input box. Text remains selectable and searchable in compatible PDF readers. The result can be merged with other PDFs using the tools on this site.
What happens to line breaks and formatting?
Existing line breaks and blank lines are preserved. Tabs become four spaces, long lines wrap at spaces where possible, and long words or Chinese lines wrap at character boundaries. Pages are added automatically; each page has 20 mm margins.
This is a plain-text converter. HTML and Markdown are treated as literal text. It does not preserve fonts, colors, bold styling, images or a word processor’s original page layout. For a DOCX file, use a document editor and its PDF export rather than renaming the file to TXT.
Convert text locally without an account
Your text and TXT bytes are processed in this browser using pdf-lib. They are not sent to a document-processing server. Standard Latin text uses a built-in PDF font; additional supported characters use a Noto Sans SC font served by this site and embedded as a subset in the output.
The editor does not save drafts. Keep your source text or downloaded PDF before closing or refreshing the page. If a font download fails, the text remains in the editor so you can retry.
Input, language and output limits
- Up to 50,000 characters after tabs expand to four spaces; TXT files up to 1 MB; up to 100 PDF pages and a 10 MB output.
- TXT input must be valid UTF-8, or UTF-16 with a byte-order mark. Save older GBK or other encoded files as UTF-8 first. Binary files cannot be converted.
- English and Chinese are supported. Unsupported glyphs, including many emoji and other scripts, produce an error instead of silent missing-character boxes.
- Plain text only, in one regular font. No OCR, rich text, DOCX conversion, password protection or original document layout reconstruction.
Text to PDF questions
Can I convert TXT to PDF without uploading it?
Yes. Import a local .txt file, review its contents and create the PDF in your browser. No account is needed and the text is not uploaded.
Is text to PDF free?
Yes. Pasting text, importing TXT and downloading the result are free and do not require registration.
Does Chinese text remain selectable in the PDF?
Yes. Supported Chinese characters use an embedded Noto Sans SC font and a PDF text layer. They remain selectable and searchable in compatible PDF readers.
Will long text fit on multiple pages?
Yes. Lines wrap to the chosen page width and continue onto new pages automatically, up to 100 pages. Existing blank lines are retained.
Can I convert a Word document or an image?
This page accepts plain text and TXT files. For images, use JPG to PDF. For DOCX, open it in a document editor and export to PDF; this page does not render Word formatting.
