How to Reorder PDF Pages
- 1
Choose a PDF to load page thumbnails.
- 2
Drag page handles or use the arrows to reorder, rotate or remove pages you don't need.
- 3
Click Save new order and download the organized PDF.
Example
A scanned report came out with pages 5 and 6 swapped and one page upside down. Move page 6 before page 5, rotate the upside-down page and save.
Arrange Pages with a Clear Plan
Organize PDF is useful after scanning a report in the wrong order or merging several documents into a packet. Load one PDF and review the thumbnails from beginning to end. Drag a page handle directly to another position, or use the left and right arrows to move one position at a time. The Page label identifies its original position, which helps you follow a page after it moves.
Use the rotation controls when an individual scan is sideways or upside down, and remove a page only after confirming that it is unwanted. The preview reflects your proposed arrangement before you save. This tool does not drag pages between separate source PDFs; merge the sources first if you want to arrange all of their pages together.
Check Order, Orientation and Page Count
Before saving, compare the arrangement with a simple checklist: cover, main report, attachments and final page. If you removed pages, subtract that number from the original page count to calculate the expected result. Open the downloaded PDF and check the boundaries between sections, because a thumbnail can make similar-looking pages difficult to distinguish.
Moving pages does not change numbers printed within those pages, and rotating a page does not reflow its text. A report may therefore need its original author to update page references or a table of contents. Save an organized copy with a new name and keep the original until you have checked that the revised arrangement is complete.
Recover from a Mistake Before Saving
If the proposed order becomes confusing, start over and reopen your original PDF. The source file on disk has not been overwritten. For a large document, work through one section at a time and check the page labels before moving another page. When only orientation needs fixing, Rotate PDF provides a simpler route than reorganizing the whole document.
This page tool rebuilds the document from its pages. It does not guarantee that bookmarks, interactive forms, embedded attachments or signature validity survive unchanged. Test those features when they matter to your workflow. If the original is an important signed document, retain it and treat the reorganized output as a separate working copy.
Organize, Merge or Split?
- Organize changes the order and orientation of pages inside one PDF.
- Merge combines several PDF files into one.
- Split and Extract create new files from parts of a PDF.
