How to Resize PDF Pages

  1. 1

Choose a PDF from your device. Files stay in your browser.

  2. 2

Select a paper size and orientation, or enter custom width and height in millimetres.

  3. 3

Resize, download and review the new PDF. Every page is processed; the source file is unchanged.

Example: Resize a PDF to A4

A packet contains Letter pages and a landscape chart. Choose A4 with Match each original page: portrait pages become 210 × 297 mm and the chart becomes 297 × 210 mm. Content is scaled uniformly and centered.

Change PDF Page Size Without Stretching Content

The tool fits the currently visible page inside the new paper size with one scale factor for both axes. A page with a different aspect ratio gains blank space on two sides. Text, images and drawings stay proportional; the page is centered instead of stretched or cropped. Existing page rotation is respected. Previously cropped margins remain hidden.

A4, A3 and A5 use standard ISO dimensions. Letter and Legal use common US paper sizes. Presets can follow each original page’s orientation, or force every page to portrait or landscape. Custom dimensions use the entered width and height directly, including a landscape width greater than its height.

Page Dimensions, File Compression and Print Scaling

Use this PDF resizer when a submission asks for A4 or Letter pages, or when you want consistent paper dimensions across a document. The saved PDF has new page dimensions, so another reader can open it at that paper size. Changing only a printer’s fit-to-paper option does not change the original PDF.

A file-size limit such as 2 MB is a different task. Page resizing does not recompress embedded images or guarantee fewer bytes. Keep your original and inspect the result before printing or submitting it. Form widgets and common annotation coordinates move with the content, but specialised interactive features and bookmark view positions need checking in the destination reader.

Supported Files and Limits

  • Up to 50 MB per PDF and 500 pages, with a maximum 100 MB result. Custom dimensions range from 10 to 2000 mm on each side.
  • Password-protected files must be unlocked first. Digitally signed PDFs, XFA forms and multimedia annotations are refused rather than silently modified. A partially cropped annotation is also refused to avoid revealing hidden margins or distorting a form field.
  • Check links, comments, form fields and bookmark view positions in your PDF reader after resizing. This tool does not certify a document or preserve a digital signature.

Resize PDF FAQ

Does resize PDF mean a smaller file in MB?

+

Here it means changing page width and height. This is not a PDF compressor, and the downloaded file may be larger than the original.

Will my PDF text become a blurry image?

+

The tool transforms existing page content rather than rasterizing it. Existing text stays text and vector artwork stays vector. A scanned image remains an image; resizing does not add detail or OCR.

Can I choose different sizes for individual pages?

+

This version applies one paper preset or one custom size to the entire PDF. Automatic orientation preserves each page’s portrait or landscape shape. Use Split PDF first if only a group of pages needs resizing.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

+

It is free and works without registration. PDF bytes are processed locally with pdf-lib, independently of the full PdfCraft workspace.
