The Software Behind It
The full workspace is PdfCraft by the ArtCraft team and contributors, served unmodified (version 0.6.0).
The quick tools are built by us with open-source pdf-lib and PDF.js, plus browser image decoding, and run entirely in your browser.
Files and Website Data Are Different
The current PDF workflows process file contents in your browser. Selecting a PDF does not upload its contents to a document-processing server. The website still has normal web requests for pages, application assets and account actions. If you sign in, the authentication service handles account data; that does not turn the PDF tools into cloud file storage.
Keep downloads somewhere you can find them, especially on a shared computer. Closing the page or starting over clears the tool’s working state, but a PDF you downloaded remains on your device until you remove it. Consult the privacy policy for website and account data, and use your organization’s own rules when deciding whether a particular document may be processed in a browser.
Why the Workspace and Tools Are Separate
The workspace preserves the upstream ArtCraft application. The quick tools solve specific page, image and text tasks with a smaller interface: select local files, review the operation and download the output. Each page identifies its actual processing engine, so you can see which software performs the task.
A simple merge does not require the full workspace to start. Reading and annotating a document benefits from the complete app instead. We link the two experiences so you can choose the task that fits your document, but a quick tool is not an API wrapper around the workspace. Files are not synchronized between the two interfaces; download a result before opening it elsewhere.
What Free Means Here
The current browser workspace and listed tools are free. You do not need an account for page operations, JPG/PNG to PDF, PDF to images or text extraction. Account features are separate from these tasks. Future services that require server processing may have different terms, but they are not prerequisites for the existing tools.
Free access does not remove the practical limits of your own device. A large scanned PDF may need substantial memory, and the workspace downloads its application assets on the first visit. Try a small file before working with a very large document. We do not claim unlimited capacity or universal compatibility simply because a task has no price.
Versions, Limitations and Feedback
The hosted workspace is pinned to the version shown on this site. We verify official upstream release files before updating it, and the download guide links to the ArtCraft release source. A similarly named website may use another engine or show another version, so check its source rather than assuming every product named PdfCraft is the same application.
When reporting a problem, tell us the page, browser, device and action that failed. A small synthetic PDF that reproduces the issue is more useful than a confidential document. Do not send passwords or sensitive PDFs by default. Check important output files yourself: page tasks do not certify signature validity, preservation of every interactive feature or compliance with a recipient’s document requirements.
